Events this week at School: Tuesday, April 15 is a Track Meet at Truesdell. It is Curtis v Truesdell v Hadley from 3:30 - 6:30. The is no school Friday, April 18th. It is a conference release day. There is also no school Monday, April 21. It is a teacher inservice day. Be on the lookout for information from your student about our Science Night!

Guidelines For Success
These are the Curtis Guidelines for Success. They are the guiding principles that we, the faculity and staff at Curtis Middle School, try to instill in each of our students, to help move them toward realizing the importance of getting their education and the role each student plays in that process.

Curtis JROTC Award Winners

Pictured here are the Curtis JROTC Award Winners from the Annual JROTC District Awards Banquet that was held at Heights High School on April 10th. The students are Nadeen Abu-Sherbi, Alexis Luethje, Mariano Kirk, Ozziel Terrazas, and Kenny Le. They won the following awards; Military Order of World Wars Superintendent's Award, The Sons of the American Revolution, Scottish Rite (Southern Juisdiction), and the Association of the United States Army. Congratulations Cadets!

Curtis will hang a banner celebrating their accomplishment. The banner has the name of every student and staff in the background. Parents, would you some ideas on parenting a middle school child?
Would you like to increase your child’s compliance? Would you like to learn some communication tips? Would you like to be supported in your job as a parent? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions and would like to have some fun, please come and join us for some parent management training sessions! Classes in English are Tuesdays in April from 6-7 pm. Classes in Spanish are Thursdays in April, also from 6-7 pm.

School Information

After School Tutoring  and Rec. is Back!
After school tutoring and after school rec. is up and running again. Applications are still availabe from the office, or you can call the school to get more info (973-7350). ALL students signed up for the after school tutoring program MUST also be enrolled in the YMCA's After School Rec. program. ALL students who stay for ASR and tutoring will be in the rec. program from 3:30 - 4:00 doing homework. At 4:00 the tutoring program begins and runs until 5:00. This happens every Monday - Thursday, unless there is a staff meeting or conferences, then there will be no after school program on those days. All kids must be picked up by a parent, walk home or ride the late bus. Students that are picked up, must be picked up promptly at 5:00 pm. The late bus leaves at approximately 5:15 pm.
